🚨 Blood Shortage: A Silent Emergency in Cameroon

Every day across Cameroon, lives are lost not because treatment doesn’t exist, but because safe blood isn’t available when it’s needed most.

🧍‍♂️💔 There are willing donors, ready to save lives.
💉 But many feel discouraged.

They give blood for free…
…only to watch their loved ones die because they can’t afford to pay up to 45,000 FCFA for a single bag of blood.

⚠️ Blood Should Never Be a Luxury

💔 Saving a life should never depend on money.
No one should be forced to choose between poverty and survival.

Safe blood must be accessible to all, not sold like a commodity.
Blood is not business. It is about saving lives.

To all stakeholders, health workers, hospital administrators, and the Ministry of Public Health:

✅ Support blood donation campaigns with adequate logistics and visibility
✅ Work with civil society organizations that lead local blood mobilization efforts
✅ Stop monetizing blood, and ensure it reaches those in critical need, without cost barriers
